Established in 2012, Hardoll Lighting Technology Co., Ltd. (Hardoll Lighting Technology) has its headquarters located in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, China - the globally renowned "China Lighting Capital". Since its inception, it has focused on the research and development of "intelligent, energy-saving, and user-friendly" concepts, dedicated to the innovative design and large-scale application of LED commercial lighting and intelligent lighting environment systems. After more than a decade of steady development, Hardoll has grown from a small research and development studio with only a dozen employees to a national high-tech enterprise with over 300 employees, an annual production capacity of over 800,000 sets of lamps, and its products exported to more than 60 countries.
In 2015, the company completed its first round of financing and built a modern dust-free SMT assembly workshop and an optical laboratory. In 2017, it obtained dual certifications of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and ISO 14001 environmental management system. In 2019, it officially launched its independently intellectual property H-Link intelligent dimming protocol, which is compatible with DALI-2 and Bluetooth Mesh, becoming one of the few lighting technology enterprises in China with the ability to develop full-stack intelligent lighting protocols. In 2022, Hardoll first introduced the 'LuminaSphere' modular lighting environment platform at the Light+ exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany. This platform integrates AI scene recognition, adaptive color temperature adjustment, and real-time energy consumption analysis functions, and received dual international recognitions of IF Design Award and Lighting Design Award.
In recent years, Hardoll has continuously deepened its cooperation among industry, academia and research institutions. It has jointly established the 'Health Lighting Environment Joint Laboratory' with South China University of Technology, focusing on the application verification of human-centric lighting (Human-Centric Lighting) in educational, medical and office spaces. The dynamic spectrum stadium lighting system it customized for Shenzhen Bay Sports Center enables one-click switching between event mode, training mode and energy-saving mode, achieving an annual electricity savings of 38%. The non-shadow-enhanced LED main light it provided for the operating room of Shanghai Ruijin Hospital has a uniformity of illumination of 95.2% and a color rendering index Ra ≥ 98, significantly improving the visual recognition accuracy during surgeries. As of the first half of 2024, Hardoll has cumulatively applied for 217 patents, of which 41% are invention patents, and it has led or participated in the formulation of 5 national and industry standards, including 'GB/T 39797-2021 General Technical Requirements for Intelligent Lighting Systems'.
Looking towards the future, Hardoll is accelerating its efforts in the fields of optical communication (Li-Fi), digital twin lighting management platforms, and carbon footprint tracking systems. The goal is to ensure that all its products meet the requirements of the EU ERP eco-design directive and the CBAM carbon border adjustment mechanism by 2026. 'We are not just the carriers of light sources, but the definers of light value,' emphasized James Hu, the company's founder and CEO, at the 2024 annual strategy launch event. Starting from a factory in Zhongshan Ancient Town, and now serving global leading real estate developers, chain hotels, and smart parks, Hardoll Lighting Technology is steadily moving towards a new stage as a global leader in intelligent lighting solutions, with solid technological accumulation and forward-looking sustainable development concepts.
